The Organisation

The Timaru District Council aims to enable democratic local decision-making and action by, and on behalf of communities, to promote the social, economic, environmental, and cultural well-being of its communities in the present and for the future. With around 400 staff, there are a diverse range of roles from front facing community to support and technical specialists.

The Role

Do you thrive in a role that combines attention to detail with exceptional organizational skills? We are seeking an Environmental Compliance Administration Officer for our team!

In this admin-based role, you will be the mastermind behind the Environmental Compliance Unit. Providing high-quality administrative support, you will provide assistance to the environmental health and parking teams.

Your responsibilities will encompass a wide range of administrative tasks to ensure the smooth functioning of compliance-related activities. You will provide essential administrative support, manage records, generate invoices, track and reconcile these, follow up overdue accounts, liaise with external customers and various teams alike, and contribute to the overall efficiency of our operations. You will also be the first point of call for our customers for their broad range of enquiries relating to the environmental health and parking queries, and be a champion at helping to resolve these.

This is a diverse role, with plenty of scope for you to make it your own. If you have a can-do attitude and willingness to learn, and are a self-starter, then we want to hear from you!
